Today is our Grand Daughter Maddisson’s 8th birthday (WOW, hard to believe!). We gave her a call at home and gave her our best wishes and promised to take her out for a special day when we return.
We had a slow morning. Checked out my poor van. It has been through a lot the last few days, but has performed flawlessly.
Its still below freezing today, but is supposed to warm up to the 70’s by the end of the week.
We headed to town and had breakfast at Bob Evans. Paul & Jean should recognize this shot.
We made our way to Branson Landing. This was only a concept the last time we were here. It is along the shores of Lake Tanycomo (which is more like a river) and is about a mile long with lots of interesting little shops, stores and restaurants.
Of course it is anchored by a Bass Pro Shop!
This is one of the smaller stores at only 40,000 sq ft (less than a third our store's size), but I must say the best little store that I have seen (Myrtle Beach and Destin also have small stores).
Had a good chat with Chris, the Operations Manager. Like many BPS Managers, Chris has worked his way up through the ranks from Receiving to GSM of Hunting and then onto Operations Manager. Like so many others, Chris had an excellent career at Home Depot before coming to Bass Pro. Its almost like Home Depot is a training ground for BPS Managers.
Saw this guy trying to maneuver his way out of the parking lot. He made it! I was waiting to see what he was going to do if he had to back up!!!
This was an interesting store at the Landing. It is a boy’s answer to “Build-a-Bear” (which was across the street). You buy a basic model and then customize it with custom wheels, engines, decals, remote control and on and on. The basic car is $20, but many walk out after dropping $80!!
There are currently 12 stores and they are interested in getting into Vaughn Mills.
Nice Car!
