One of the things that I had on my "Must Do" list this year was to visit the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum in Branson. Roy was my hero as a kid and I had always regretted not going the last time I was here.
The museum had tons of memorabilia. I spent over two hours in there and learned a lot more about my hero.
He was an original member of the Sons of the Pioneers.
Him and I had another hero in common! There was tons of sports memorabilia that he had collected including second base from Cinncinati Stadium which was the location of the hospital that he was born in.
Here you see the original Buttermilk (Dale's horse) with Trigger and Bullet fully preserved in the background.
Good Ole Nelly Belle!
Roy's first guitar that he paid $10 for.
A collection of his guitars.
The inlay on the white one was beautiful!
Roy's boat. He raced different boats including seafleas. This one had twin 75's which must have been awesome in his day!
He was also an avid fisherman. Some of his lures.
Awwww, the gun collection. I had a set as a kid. The deringer in the bottom right hand corner sold for 29 cents.
Three of my all time favourite sidekicks, Gabby Hayes, Pat Brady and Jingles.
A great way to spend an afternoon!!
