We had heard about a nature trail that went from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness (campground) and decided to check it out, but first we had to go to Crabby Joe's for lunch.
This is just down the road from Orange Lake and we had watched it being built since we got here. Today was their Grand Opening. Had a nice lunch. We'll try it again when we're back again next year. I loved this sign in the lobby 8O)
On to Wilderness Lodge.
We've shown you the inside in a previous post. We have always been here in the evening and have never taken in all the amenities. Here's the pool out back. A geyser inside the lodge usually erupts and water runs outside down a creek, over a waterfall and appears to run into the pool. Unfortunately, that portion was down for maintenance.
They had a geyser out back that went off. Took me back to Yellowstone when I was there with Bud a few years ago.
We found the nature path and headed for Fort Wilderness.
Saw a herd of these guys along the way. Definitely NOT animatronics. They didn't have much fear.
Finally arrived at Fort Wilderness and checked it out. Here's Pioneer Hall.........
..............home of the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, something we have added to our list for next year.
We got on a boat to return to Wilderness Lodge, but it first had to stop at Magic Kingdom.
And then back under the monorail. The monorail coming out of the Contemporary passed right overhead.
We left Fort Wilderness and I finally got to view the Disney Racetrack.
Next Stop, Disney Boardwalk.
We watched the buskers, stopped for Tea and Cheesecake and on our walk around the boardwalk, stopped to watch the fireworks at Epcot.
And then visited a few of the Disney Vacation Resorts. The Beach Club and then here.
Another Magical Day!
