It has been many, many years since I've been to a baseball game. Ever since the lockout many years ago, I abandoned baseball and refused to line the pampered, pompous, extremely overpaid ball player's pockets. I think the last game I went to was when we booked my Mom a Hotel Room at the Dome for her 75th or 80th birthday (15-20 years ago).
So a month ago I relented and booked tickets for a Braves-Jays Spring Training game at Wide World of Sports Stadium at Disney for today. Moe and his family joined us. We woke up to drizzle that was supposed to clear before game time.
Guess what? It never did.
It cleared long enough to remove the tarps and have Mickey and Goofy help Chicago Bears great linebacker Brian Urlacher throw out the first pitch.
No sooner had the first pitch been thrown than it started raining again.
They managed to get in 1 1/2 innings.
Here's the remnants of our Motley Crew.
The Jays were up 2-0 on a home run that we missed because we had already taken shelter.
Chris thought Joanne's Mom looked like the fairy godmother in Cinderella!
The lousiest day that we've had since we've been down here.
Take a good look Roger, cause you'll never see the inside of a baseball stadium again!!!
The
day was not lost though as we went to Moe and Joanne's for an impromptu
chicken dinner. Lots of laughs. Joanne's Mom & Dad are a
riot!!
The sun will come out tomorrow.
