Kauai - Day 1

Thursday, March 25, 2015

We arrived in Port N'ahwille in Kauai after a rocky, but tolerable ride from the Big Island.

We left the ship for our much appreciated Helicopter tour of the Waimea Canyon.

Lynn, Moe and I went for the tour while Joanne went for a tour of downtown.

There are a limited number of days in your life that you do something unforgettable.    This was one of them!
Words cannot describe what we saw and even the pictures don't do it justice.

We crossed over the ocean and started the tour down the Hanapepe Valley.

This is Manawsiopuna Falls that was used in Jurrasic Park.

Incredible waterfalls everywhere!

The Waimea Canyon is referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Hawaiin Islands.

This is the Na Pali Coast.  The scenery is overwhelming.  We'll be passing this coastline on the ship tomorrow for a different perspective.

Lock that in the memory banks.  That was Number One!!!

We got back to the ship for a short rest before leaving for the Kalamaku Luau.

The food was okay, but the show was wonderful, depicting the arrival of the first Tahitians to settle in Hawaii.  Very well done!!

If you look really hard in this picture you might spot me!! :)

Tonight was penguin night.

Aloha!
