The Left Coast

Monday, March 19, 2012

Today we drove to Punta Gorda to check out some of the Left Coast. It was a long boring drive cross country to get there, but well worth it in the end.

Our first stop was Fisherman's Village which turned out to be worth the drive alone.

A real nice complex of gift shops set up on the docks where the fish packing plants once stood.

Chris wanted me to take this Pelican home!

Only in my wildest dreams.........

We drove around Punta Gorda a bit.  Nothing but canals, big houses and big boats!  $$$$$

We moved up the coast past Sarasota, past the Sailor and his girl just before St Armand's Circle .

A little too "Hoyty Toyty" for me!!

We drove out to Lido Key...........

...............to catch a few shots of the sunset.

........before heading back home.
300 miles and 6 hours of driving, but worth every minute of it!
