Mickey Gilley

Sunday, September 14, 2014

Started the day off with a timeshare presentation at Blue/Green and then went to see New Jersey Nights (we gave it a 7).  We had some time to kill until the Mickey Gilley show so drove down to Branson Landing.   Lynn had never been there.  Of course the first stop was their Bass Pro Outpost.  This is one of their smaller stores, but still fun to check out.

We took the shuttle to the far end of the Landing and walked back. Lots of interesting stores.

The Mickey Gilley show was outstanding!  We both gave it a 10.

Mickey has survived 2 plane crashes, burst appendix and a fall a few years ago helping a neighbour move that left him paralyzed from the neck down.  They said he would never walk again.

9 months later he was back on stage!

He has trouble walking, his hands are full of arthritis (so no piano), but at 78 this guy can still sing!!!  What a voice.  And still a great sense of humour.

What an inspiration!
