We left home yesterday for a week in Branson, MO. We passed by Defiance, Ohio. I had to get a pic to show Lynn's son Scott.
They made a movie in the Paris area a few years back and Scott scored this sign that consumes the whole back wall of his garage.
We drove 12 hours to get to St Louis. One of the things on my Bucket List is to go to the top of the St Louis Arch. This was the view from our room!
We had a great pizza at Caleco's.
And went for a walk. That's the Old Court House in front of the Arch.
We thought about going to the Cardinals game, but it was cold and drizzly so we passed.
We started this morning with breakfast at St Louis Bread Co. Actually a Panera Bread. St. Louis is where Panera Bread was founded.
We made our way for our ride to the top of the Arch, over 60 stories high!
You travel to the top of the arch in one of six cars like the one below. Very cosy! The car rotates to keep it vertical as it rises up the arch.
The view inside the arch as you take the 4 minute ride. Glad we didn't have to climb the stairs!!
There is an observation room at the top. You can stay as long as you want.
Here's a view of St Louis. Busch Stadium is on the left.
A long way down.
The mighty Mississippi is on the other side. I was surprised by the strong current and all the deadheads (full size trees) going down the River.
That's another one off the Bucket List!!
St Louis is celebrating its 250th Anniversary.
We left St Louis and headed the last 4 hours to Branson. We got settled in our timeshare.
Here's a video of the unit.
We got settled and headed out to watch SIX, an amazing show. Six brothers who not only harmonize, but also make all the instrumental sounds with their voices.
A great start to our week.
