Pelee Pedal

Saturday, September 6, 2014

I joined up with my Tromper Buddies today at the Gate to Point Pelee National Park.  They arrived yesterday and played a round of golf.

We biked down to the Boardwalk viewing area.....

....and walked the boardwalk in the marsh.

This is located further south than the Northern California Border.

The 42nd parallel.

Here we are at the tip.
Notice the waves coming in from opposite directions.  This area changes daily.

On our return this gentleman stopped to give a few fellow bikers coupons for Dominos Pizza.  Turns out its Mike Schlater, CEO of Dominos Canada!

We had a great lunch (Perch Burgers) at Paula's Fish Cafe.

We returned to the marsh for an hour guided trip in a 12 man canoe.

After returning to our Hotel to clean up we met up with Doc's old Neighbours from years ago.
He took us out to his "other" garage.  I thought he was showing us a couple of engines he was building, but instead we were treated to his car collection.
Which included this split window Vette.

2 Ferraris

Two Vipers, Two Dodge Challengers, and several other cars including a Ford GT40 on the upper right!!!!

I was also blown away by his Fender guitar collection.   The best part was that they were down to earth folks, not the least bit pretentious.
We went to Osaraccino's for dinner.   Doc and the Guitar player both put on a great show!
