Got out today with Lynn's son Dion and Jordan. This lake is a very big deep bowl (150 feet) with deep shorelines and very few weed edges. Not my kind of lake for fishing. After studying the hydrographics on my iphone, I marked a few spots in this chain of lakes that might suit my style.
There are about 5 or 6 different lakes in this chain. We headed to Grass Lake and found a nice shallow inlet full of weeds and pads.
Jordan set the pace early catching 9 fish on worms.
Dion was pegging the bass with surface baits (sorry no photos). I lofted a BrushHawg right up against a dock and came up with this one (approx. 3 Lbs).
We moved over to a nearby shoal and I got this guy on a Dinger.
It was nice to have the slime on my hands again!
After a great dinner we enjoyed a great campfire.
Times are a changing. Here we are around the fire. Everyone is checking their phones!!!!
We then settled in for a few viscous games of Spoons!
A great game. Lynn was the champ winning two games and beating the "Spoon Queen" Sahara along the way!
Lots of fun.
