Well, FishGuts 8 is now in the books. I had another great trip with good friends, good food and good music. The only thing missing was good fishing!!Paul Kennedy and I left late Tuesday morning and were joined by brother Bud later that night. The majority of the gang (FrogHawg, Gill, Mr. Science, Dell, Moe, Twang) arrived on Wednesday which featured my "Official" Retirement Party!! Suffice to say that I survived to live another day. Nothing like celebrating with good friends.
Son Pogger (Paul) and the Doiron brothers, "Rob Bob" and Rookie brother "Butch" arrived on Thursday morning. The week featured mostly clear, cool, pleasant weather although quite windy at times. The fishing was tough (not only for us, but for all that we talked to). I had the pleasure of meeting many OFN (internet) friends who were staying close by at Lakair. Got a chance to fish with Lew, the Musky Master, but came up empty handed although we had a very enjoyable and relaxing time.
We had many excellent fires, spectacular scenery and memorable meals (Pulled Pork.....mmmmm) along with an excellent fish fry that included Papa's Fabulous French Fries and Onion Rings.
