Week 2

January 12-15, 2010
Our unit is located on the top (6th) floor and faces all the Disney properties.

Here you can see the ball at Epcot.

A little to the right and you can see the balloon that hovers over Downtown Disney

A little further right and you can make out the Blue Wizard's hat at Hollywood Studios, the Mouse tower and to the right of that you can see the top of the Gaylord Palms Hotel.

To the left of all those is Magic Kingdom. We can't see any landmarks during the day, but at 8:00 pm we are treated to a 20 minute fireworks exravaganza that is out of this world. Then at 9:00 pm we get to enjoy the fireworks from Epcot.
Every night for the next three weeks!

The balance of the week remained cool, but sunny most days.

It gave me a chance to catch up on my reading!!
(The invasion of Canada - The War of 1812 by Pierre Berton)

We went on an Owner's Update timeshare tour of Orange Lake for $80. It provided us with a unique view of the Lazy River.

We spent a day at Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney. Here's the balloon that you saw in an earlier picture from our room.

Checked out Cirque de Soleil where we'll be going in a few weeks with Terry and family (Christmas present).

Stopped in at the House of Blues for a drink and a few good tunes.

We then stopped in at Raglan Road, an Irish Pub and listened to a great house band called "Creel" an Irish/Celtic band who were accompanied on many tunes by Pam, a World Champion Clogger!
A couple of personal favourites were "Dirty Old Town" and "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda", a couple of Pogue's songs.

Another great week!!
