Kauai - Day 2

The  Friday, March 27, 2015

We left the ship this morning for a bus tour to Waimea Canyon.
This bay is where Captain Cooke first moored his ship.  Kauai was the first island he visited.

We made our way up the winding road and stopped at the lookout for Waimea Canyon.  It is a breathtaking place.

What is really cool about the islands (especially this one), is that so much is uninhabited.   Still in its natural state and beauty.

Can you spot the chopper that we were in yesterday in this picture?

This dude was at the lookout.  Giving chants and explaining about the Hawaian culture.

On the way back we stopped at the Kauai Coffee Plantation for a few samples.  This and the Kona coffee I had the other day are the only coffee I've ever been able to drink black.  Outstanding coffee!

A hot little Kauain girl!

We stopped at Spouting Horn Park.

Beautiful views.

Wild chickens are everywhere on the islands.

We passed this timeshare on the Ocean. Hmmmm.......

We got back to the ship just before it departed.  We were heading back to Honolulu.......

....... but not before making a pass along the Na Pali coast.
Spectacular!!

Can you spot the breaching whale?

I hope to return here someday.

The ship made a 180° turn to start heading for Oahu.

The view from our room at the stern.

We ended the night with one more fabulous dinner.

What an amazing cruise!  Would love to return sometime to do it again.   Lots of different things that could still be done on all the islands.
