FishGuts Practix

Monday, November 17, 2008
As most of you know, I am a proud member of the FishGuts, an eclectic group of renegade intellectuals that are my fishing buddies and friends. We have been together now for about 8 years and are proud to say that we aren't any better than we were a few years ago. Our motto is "Dedicated to the pursuit of Good Fun, Good Fishing and a Little Music along the way".

We got together at our Band Manager Paul Kennedy's house for our bi-weekly practix.

If you noticed, we usually sit in a circle, leaving room in the middle for our imaginary "Fire". Practixes are very much like sitting around the fire up north, drinking, laughing and just enjoying each other's company.

My brother Bud is our only natural musician. The SOB can pick up a tune after only hearing it a couple of times!

Moe is an accomplished shaker musician and also plays guitar and bass.

Barry is our only real guitarist and sings most of the "Starbucks" songs and Ed is still working on learning the mandolin.

And of course there is me, still trying to learn to play the guitar after almost 50 years.

Here's our Manager (a loose term) Paul with his bride Jean who is also our featured chick singer for "You are My Sunshine"!

We put this tune together a few years ago for a special Christmas CD that Ed's son-in-law was putting together. Hope you enjoy.
A Fisherman's Christmas

We used to have a website, but it is currently down for reconstruction. One of my "50 Things to do Before I Die"
