Walkabout

Saturday, April 11, 2015

It's time to slow it down a bit. We've been going hard for 3 weeks now.  We walked down to the White Spot for brunch.  One of the best breakfasts I've ever had.   I'll be back before we leave.

I love this shot of my sweetie.

From there we walked down to the inner harbour.  I love these little tugs.  Have to take a tour on one later this week.

There are natives along the one wall selling their crafts.  This gentleman had some beautiful carvings out of Brazilian soapstone.

Lynn loves these Snuffleufugus trees (Weeping Sequoia)!!

These are floating houses.  Very cool.

Streets are beautiful.

We walked across to the other side outside of the harbour.

It was very windy and brisk.  We talked to one of these surfers and they said conditions were perfect.  You can see by their wake how fast they were going!

There were lots of them out.

This map only tells half the story.  The pin is near Ritchie's.  We walked from there down to the inner harbour, all around the inner harbour and then across to where the blue line starts. All along the Ocean front to Cook street and back to Ritchie's.  Total distance about 8 miles.

We got dressed up for dinner with some of the gifts Ritchie and Caroline gave us.  Here's my Princess!

They put on an awesome dinner for us.  Heat the marble up to 425°F in the oven and then put it over a couple of heaters. We had steak, pork, chicken, salmon and mushrooms.  Was it ever good!

And......Pink Shit!
Cheers!

And this massive lemon meringue pie for dessert.

This is the last map used by the H.M.C.S. Huron on its return from the Gulf war in 1991 navigated by Ritchie!!

Now how cool is that???
