Whistler

We said goodbye to Tofino and headed for our next destination, Whistler via the Nanaimo Ferry.  We made it in plenty of time for the 12:30 ferry to Horseshoe Bay.

Good Bye Vancouver Island.   See you in a few days.

Hello B.C. Mainland.

Our first glimpse of Vancouver.   We'll be going there tomorrow.

We got off the ferry after an hour and 40 minute ride and headed up the Sea to Sky highway along Howe Sound......

........and then into the mountains.

The slopes at Blackcomb/Whistler are deteriorating this time of year with only the top slopes in good shape.

Whistler is to Australia what Hawaii is to Japan.  Almost all of the employees had an Australian accent!!!  Wasn't expecting that.  They say Whistler is the Australian capital of Canada.

A familiar sight from a few years ago!

We had a good dinner at the xxxxx and were greeted by some beautiful colours when we came out.

This is Jordan Daniels, a Bass Pro buddy that I haven't seen for a few years.  We have both been crisscrossing between Victoria, Tofino, Vancouver and Whistler.  We finally got to hook up with him and his fiancé Lauren.

They are both teaching in Grande Prairie Alberta (4 hours north of Edmonton) and are in their spring break.

It was really great to see him.
